Machine Hallucination

Artechouse commissioned Refik Anadol Studio in the fall of 2019 to showcase an inaugural exhibition at their new state-of-the-art digital space in Chelsea. The studio debuted their largest installation to date: Machine Hallucination, an exploration of New York’s architecture through the mind of a machine. In deploying machine learning algorithms on photographic memories of New York City, Machine Hallucinations presents a data universe of New York in 1025 latent dimensions.

Tetra: Kinetic Sculpture

Tetra is a large-scale environmental installation permanently residing in the welcome area of Xandr, AT&T’s advertising and analytics division’s corporate office. The identity of the site was to be enduring and exude dynamic energy integral to the spirit of innovation. The form pulls inspiration from AT&T founder Alexander Graham Bell and his tetrahedral box kites.

W.L. Gore & Associates’ new Capabilities Center is a comprehensive and interactive spatial and interpretive experience at the company’s Newark, Delaware location. We created a world-class interactive workplace experience to share Gore’s rich history, capabilities, culture, and commitment to innovation with their partners, customers, and visitors.

The Capabilities Center includes interactive experiences including an Immersive Corridor, Advanced Materials Spiral, and Product Wall — all illustrating Gore & Associates’ dedication to improving lives throughout the world.

Taylor Street Apartments and Little Italy Branch Library

Taylor Street Apartments and Little Italy Branch Library

The Taylor Street Apartments and Little Italy Library branch is one of the city’s first co-located Chicago Housing Authority and Public Library branches. The development is sited on the corner of West Taylor and Ada Streets and includes a one-story public library branch and a multi-story mixed-income residential complex, with additional community spaces at street level. Designed to create a synergy between the two distinct programs, the building serves as a new hub for the neighborhood.

Every three years, New Zealand councils redesign their long-term budgets. Residents can have a say on what councils propose and their feedback is both welcome and valuable. They wanted a fast and effective way to provoke a more diverse array of submissions on the Council’s Long-term Plan and increase engagement with younger generations.

The Center for Wooden Boats

The Center for Wooden Boats has been a beloved gathering place on Seattle’s Lake Union since 1976. The maritime non-profit's new building, the stunning Wagner Education Center, raises their visibility and all the great work they do to nurture kids and the local boat-loving community. The new donor recognition and signage system takes its cue from the building's industrial, honest material palette. When visitors take a closer look at each steel donor panel, they discover the favorite sailing waters of each donor.

As an established energy provider, Ausgrid sought to create a workplace environment that would be a benchmark for future ways of working. Infusing authentic indigenous representation was an important factor and embodies the company’s core values of diversity and inclusion. To align with the business’ sustainable and inclusive objectives, inspiration was taken from how energy manifests itself within nature and a story of ‘Lighting Storms across Rural Australia’ became the driving theme throughout the interior.

Traxys North America Workplace

Traxys North America Workplace

A worldwide leader in the metals, minerals and mining industries, Traxys story is brought to life in their 30,000 square-foot Manhattan Headquarters. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into the space with a digitally enabled mineral specimen display that showcases ten of the most prominent minerals for the company’s business. The scope of the project included interior architectural design, digital experience, signage & wayfinding, interiors programming, and workplace strategy.
