Selbert Perkins Design (SPD) is a WBE/DBE/SBE multidisciplinary, international design firm that has created some of the world’s most notable, iconic landmarks. Their award-winning work, for a diverse array of high-profile clients, can be seen on five continents. Selbert Perkins Design combine branding, public art, sculpture, signage and wayfinding to create meaningful environments that serve the public good and translate into positive results for our clients.
Landscape architect/graphic designer Clifford Selbert and graphic designer/sculptor Robin Perkins teamed up in the late 1980s and, for over 30 years SPD have collaborated with municipalities, public agencies, owners, developers, architects, landscape architects, and the public to create innovative, branded environments that inspire. They have successfully completed numerous large-scale projects around the world, including streetscapes, municipal projects, parks and recreational areas, transportation facilities, mixed-use, retail, entertainment centers, sports arenas, healthcare and university campuses, and more.
Selbert Perkins Design designs everything from logos to landmarks but are best known for their unique expertise with large scale public art and branded exterior environments.
Every project has its own set of unique design challenges which require a new and original approach to problem solving – whether it’s applying proven methods in unfamiliar ways or creating new solutions; SPD never fails to be bold and fearless, yet still functional.
The scale of SPD’s work surprises people – SPD collaborates with clients to achieve a sense of grandeur and timelessness when working on a large scale. LAX Gateway and Pacific Design Center’s Chair and Lamp have become international icons.
SPD has a history of innovation as one of the early pioneers of branding and design and literally wrote the book on arts, communications and environments, S.P.A.C.E.
Selbert Perkins Design has offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Shanghai.
