3M - Introduces 3M Envision™ Translucent Films

3M (St. Paul, Minn.) introduced 3M Envision™ Translucent Films and 3M Envision™ Diffuser Films, the first graphic films optimized for use with LEDs that let graphics manufacturers achieve maximum sign face brightness while requiring fewer light sources. Using these films, shops can achieve the same level of brightness with fewer LEDs, reducing material and maintenance costs while providing the look those customers expect.


Flagraphics (Somerville, Mass.) announced the newest member of their family: the Vutek PV320.  The Vutek can print on all substrates up to two inches thick and 10 inches wide, including Sunbrella, Sintra, aluminum, Alumalite, foamcore, plywood, styrene, Coroplast, Lusterboard, Komatex PVC, GatorFoam, and more.

GKD-USA - Beijing Opera

GKD-USA (Cambridge, Md.) completed projects including 54,000 square feet of their transparent suspended partitions for the Beijing Opera. The product was chosen for its design but it also functions as a fireproof façade, reducing drafts and noise in an open environment.  Other recent projects include Phelps Dunbar’s office in Baton Rouge, La. (designed by Gensler) and the principal courtroom of the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Avery Dennison (Painesville, Ohio) is supporting SIGNARAMA’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity by donating vehicle wrap materials for 14 Habitat for Humanity trucks. SIGNARAMA announced a $250,000 partnership with Habitat for Humanity to help build and rehabilitate affordable homes throughout the United States and around the world.


LuciteLux (Cordova, Tenn.) introduced LuciteLux Impressions to its decorative acrylic sheet line. Impressions features a contemporary linear pattern and texture designed for retail and interior environments. The patterns come in a wide variety of colors and cannot be rubbed or scratched off.

Matthews Paint Introduced Amazing Pearls

Matthews Paint (Delaware, Ohio) introduced Amazing Pearls, an additive powder that creates a dramatic color effect that shifts at various angles. Matthews says the Amazing Pearl collection performs best when incorporated into a clear as a topcoat, over white or another color. Pearls can also be incorporated directly into any topcoat solid color or metallic. They are available in six colors: Crimson, Opal Blue, Gold Dust, Frost White, Russet, and Copper.

Watchfire Digital Outdoor

Watchfire Digital Outdoor (Danville, Ill.) manufactured the first digital billboard in Grand Junction, Colo.; the 10 ft. by 30 ft, 19mm digital billboard replaces a static billboard. Watchfire digital billboards use Ignite® Online to easily create complex advertising schedules, including dayparting, multiple ads per advertiser, time/temp and counters. The fact that Ignite Online is web-based makes it easy for operators to manage their Watchfire board from anywhere.
