Despina Macris is a member of the 2023 SEGD Board and has been on the SEGD Board since 2019; she is also the Brisbane SEGD Chapter Co-chair.

Despina Macris and Mark Ross established dotdash in 1987 as a design firm that best expressed their combined talents and skills.

With a career spanning several decades, Despina Macris' eclectic range of experience leads through the creative channels of graphic design and costume design. Her passion for typography, color theory, and linguistics inform the visual language of dotdash. This broad scope of design knowledge allows for a contribution to the specialized field of wayfinding that is both versed and imaginative.

As a working director, Despina’s role within the practice informs areas of design direction, design team co-ordination, and the implementation of foundational design principles.

Outside the reach of visual communication, Despina contributes to strategic business planning at dotdash.

Over the last 25 years dotdash have completed over 4,000 projects for a diverse range of clients. Dotdash regularly work with other design professionals in the construction industry such as architects, engineers, landscape architects and interior designers. their clients include, managing contractors, property developers, government bodies and institutions. Dotdash played a very active role in the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Dotdash services included wayfinding strategy and design as well as developing the Look of the Games, the celebratory overlay throughout the venues. Since then dotdash have gone on to consult on subsequent Games in Athens, Beijing, London and Sochi.
