Meet the laureates of experience design

On Design That Shapes Our World

Voices of Experience is a film and editorial series celebrating the SEGD Fellows—laureates of experiential design whose work has transformed how we navigate, connect, and belong in the world.

These designers are known not just for what they’ve created, but for how they’ve led: mentoring generations, shaping public space, and advancing design as a force for equity, clarity, and human-centered change.

Each short film offers a personal look into their philosophies, methods, and lasting impact on the built environment—and the people who move through it.

Voices That Lead

The Fellow is the highest honor SEGD bestows, recognizing excellence in design, mentorship, and long-term impact. Voices of Experience brings this legacy to life—creating a living archive of insight and inspiration for future generations.

In a time when designers are asked to solve urgent global challenges—from climate to housing—these voices remind us that great design isn’t just about what we see—it’s about how we live.

Because in wayward times,
we need guides.
We need mentors.
We need voices of experience.
