Maris J. Ensing, Founder and Chief Architect, Mad Systems
We design places for people. But people change, technology changes, language changes, knowledge changes, and environments change. The experiences we install often don’t.
Maris J. Ensing, Founder and Chief Architect of Mad Systems, explores a shift from designing fixed outputs toward designing intent and outcomes. From multilingual and accessible information to responsive environments and evolving technology, he’ll consider how experiences can adapt over time without losing their original purpose, and how tools including AI can support that evolution while preserving authorship, privacy, and human-centered design.
3:00–3:30 PM | Signs of Things to Come: Experiments at the Edge of Wayfinding
Lauren Kelly, CEO, Wayfindit/Mustard Square
Presented by Modulex
What could the next decade of wayfinding look like?
Lauren Kelly looks at how new technologies could reshape the way we plan, design, translate, and maintain signage programs. This session invites designers, planners, and owners to consider how technology will push signage workflows into new territory, and where emerging tools can add real value to the evolving practice of wayfinding.
