SEGD Membership May: Focusing on Emerging Experience Professionals

Each week of SEGD Membership May, we will introduce a theme that is centered around the pillars of SEGD’s membership community. This week we focus on our Emerging Experience Professionals (EXP), the new voices and fresh perspectives that students and early-career, or transitioning, professionals bring to our industry.

Our emerging professionals are growing into our leaders and the industry’s visionaries. Through EXP’s network of support, mentorship and programming we aim to nurture that growth within the organization. Be sure to connect with EXP on their Glue Up Community Page!

EXP news!

The Emerging Experiential Professionals (EXP) is a program whose goal is to support and provide space for individuals who are just starting out their career or transitioning and growing their career in the field of experiential design.

We’re excited for the imminent release of three webinars – presentations and insights from three of our EXP members who previously shared their stories at our 50th anniversary conference. These stories represent the foundation of EXP’s mission in SEGD, providing a window into the experience of emerging professionals.

We’re working on a number of other initiatives, including organizing our GlueUp platform in order to provide a more fluid and accessible forum for discussion and sharing.

Finally,  join us at the 2024 SEGD Conference Experience Dallas, where you will have the opportunity to participate as a mentor or mentee in the EXP conference program.

Students and members, get involved!

EXP recommends the following action items to help you get the most out of your SEGD membership, and to help you get involved in our community!

Students – reach out to SEGD to inquire about free memberships, available through the generosity of SEGD’s firm sponsorships.

Members – spread the word to any interns at your firm or students you may know.

Membership requests may be sent to Nadia at nadia@segd.org. Please include your name and contact information, the name of your school or program, and a quick note about why you are interested in student membership through SEGD.

The EXP committee can be reached at any time at exp@segd.org.
