It’s time to submit your nominations for the SEGD Achievement Awards. These awards celebrate the individuals and companies who exemplify excellence in the experience design field. Each year, SEGD presents Achievement Awards in six different categories:

Recipients include laureates and innovators in the field, champions of meaningful design and long-standing partners who have contributed significantly to the success of our organization. To see past winners, visit the Achievement Awards page on our website. Achievement Award winners will be presented at the 2024 SEGD Annual Conference happening September 26–28th in Dallas, Texas.

SEGD Achievement Awards Nomination 

The SEGD Achievement Awards honor the people and companies who set the standard for excellence in the field of experiential design—and you, our members, have the opportunity to participate in 2024’s nomination process. Know an outstanding design educator? A firm or client leading the way in innovation? A chapter chair who has gone above and beyond? Then submit a nomination! See the 2024 award descriptions below and help us honor those members who exemplify excellence.

The following are the descriptions and nominating criteria for each award: 

FELLOW

SEGD Fellows are distinguished laureates in the realm of environmental/experiential design, celebrated for their influential body of work and leadership that embodies the utmost standards of practice in their discipline. They champion the core values of environmental and experiential design and make substantial contributions to the evolution and expansion of their field.

Nominators are encouraged to recognize members who have demonstrated: the highest standards in the professional practice of environmental and/or experiential design, proven design excellence (minimum of 10 years) shown in their body of work in environmental and/or experiential design, or have made substantial contributions in leadership, education, research, strategy, or other areas related to environmental and/or experiential design, thought-leadership, leading positive change in our industry through a focus on areas such as innovation, inclusivity and sustainability.

DISTINGUISHED MEMBER AWARD

For demonstrating outstanding volunteer efforts contributing to the direction, growth, and excellence of SEGD programs and communities.

Entries are encouraged to recognize members who have demonstrated: inspiring new audience engagement, extending awareness of the field of experiential design, cultivating design communities, and clearing obstacles to facilitate the advancement of practitioners, ideas and practice areas.

INNOVATION AWARD

For advancing technologies and manufacturing in experiential design. 

Entries are encouraged to recognize members who have demonstrated: innovative expertise and processes that have expanded the potential impact and engagement of experiential and environmental graphic design.

INSIGHT AWARD

For visionary clients who demonstrate the impact of experiential design by commissioning projects and initiatives that significantly enhance or promote opportunities for the field and practitioners.

Entries are encouraged to recognize visionary clients behind impactful projects and rewarding partnerships, namely, experiential and environmental graphic design, interaction design, exhibition design, creative technology, installation and public good projects.

EDUCATOR AWARD 

For educators driving and leading the development of the next generation of experiential designers, practitioners, and faculty.

Entries are encouraged to recognize academic members who have demonstrated: the cultivation and practice of design across practice areas of SEGD, namely, experiential and environmental graphic design, interaction design, exhibition design, creative technology, installation and public good projects, etc.

CHAPTER CHAIR AWARD

For outstanding volunteer efforts while significantly contributing to the direction, growth, strength and excellence of SEGD both regionally and internationally.

Entries are encouraged to recognize members who have demonstrated commitment to the organization through their volunteer efforts as a Chapter Chair. Chapter Chairs host local and regional events, creating opportunities for members to connect with their local communities.
