Meet the Speakers for 2018 SEGD Branded Environments

The 2018 SEGD Branded Environments program will feature a diverse line-up of speakers whose work spans the globe. Learn from bright, innovative leaders, who are challenging the traditional expectations of how brand impacts environment.

Speakers at this year’s Branded Environments event include:

Faith Berry-Parent,Senior Designer, Studio SC: Faith Berry-Parent has been improving the human experience in the built environment for more than a decade through graphic design and communications. She has developed branded graphics for retail, public and private space for a variety of clients from internationally known Weyerhaeuser to local success story Julep Nail Parlor. Her career motif is in finding the unique project narrative that cultivates identity, pride and ingenuity within a community.

Charlie Bromley,Head of Environments, THERE: Originally from the UK, Charlie Bromley is a multidisciplinary designer with an international portfolio of projects that spans Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia. From a background in interior design, he has since focused his career on the intersection of branding and graphics in the built environment, working across numerous projects ranging from workplace design to retail and exhibition to major wayfinding schemes.

Simon Hancock,Founder & Creative Director, THERE: For nearly 20 years, Simon Hancock has been designing brands across Europe, Australia and Asia. Throughout his career—which includes everything from rebranding international companies to art directing advertising campaigns and creating award-winning branded environments—he has always strived to create engaging solutions that are not only beautiful, but are ideas-driven, help tell a story and leave a positive impression.

Danielle Lindsay,Senior Designer, Uber: Danielle Lindsay is an environmental graphic designer with 12 years experience in wayfinding and signage design. During this time she has contributed to and implemented wayfinding projects, sign programs and display graphics in a variety of retail, residential, cvic, cultural, hospitality and corporate environments. She is especially passionate about the relationship of wayfinding within the urban context and the role of media and information design in contributing to enhanced public spaces.

Greg Nelson,Principal and Owner, Altitude Design Office: Greg Nelson is an award-winning design leader adept at strategically merging communication and place to create compelling solutions that engage people and inspire results. With over 20 years of professional experience, Greg has worked on a wide range of projects, from stadiums, to convention centers, hotels and corporate campuses to exhibits, restaurants and high-end residences. Across all these scales and types of projects, he has developed a firsthand view that the environment is a powerful communicator and that purposeful, human-centered design solutions have the opportunity to create action and inspire change.

Mark Sanders,Owner, Studio SC: Mark Sanders is a principal at Studio SC, a Seattle-based graphic design firm with extensive experience in environmental graphics, print and identity. His firm’s goal is to help clients create a complete brand voice by focusing on the relationship between graphic design and the built environment. Mark and the Studio SC team have created visual communication solutions for a broad range of clients including architects, developers, and corporations, as well as cultural, educational, governmental, medical and non-profit organizations. Projects vary in scale from a complete branded experience to a single printed piece, but they are all developed from a strong research base, with a complete understanding of context, content and idea development.

Erin Williams,Director of Experiential Design, Rios Clementi Hale Studios: Erin Williams is an environmental graphic designer at Rios Clementi Hale Studios. She received a MFA in Visual Communications Design from the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the University of Southern California. Previously, Erin worked at Gensler as a graphic designer, where she was responsible for developing strategy and design for communication programs and branded environments that define, inspire and engage users. She specialized in bringing a strategic eye and analytical approach to every project, whether it be naming a new store or helping fans find the way to their seats in an NFL stadium.

Justin Wood,Sports Practice Director, Dimensional Innovations: Justin Woods feeds his passion for developing matchless, engaging experiences for clients by focusing on dynamic environments primarily in the sports and entertainment industries. For the last five years, Justin has led the charge on building DI’s sports portfolio through developing sponsorship activations, halls of fame and branding experiences.
