Through development of brand experience elements, the University Union celebrates UNT traditions and culture, inspiring excellence, acknowledging accomplishments of students, alumni and faculty and educating visitors and potential recruits.

Written Wor(l)ds was part of Creative Mapping, a special topics course that brought together University of Houston MFA/BFA Graphic Design, School of Art and MFA/PhD Creative Writing, Department of English. The Written Wor(l)ds exhibition set out to represent both the words and the worlds of selected literary texts.

DinoStomp

DinoStomp is an experience in which up to ten users can interact with dinosaurs from all Mesozoic eras within an imaginary 3D landscape. It is set in the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s DinoLab exhibition space.

Cortina Productions Offers AR Demo at LBJ Presidential Library

Through the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology, Cortina Productions (McClean, Va.), a full-service creative media, design and production company that specializes in location-based multimedia experiences, will host a pair of on-site demonstrations with existing exhibits at the Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library in conjunction with SXSW.

fd2s Settles in New East Austin Space

fd2s Moves to New Location

Design firm fd2s (Austin, Texas) moved to new offices at 1634 East César Chávez Street on March 1, 2017. They've spent three great years in their current space and will miss being reminded of their work on the development of the livery for Capital Metro’s Metrorail system as the train speeds past the front door several times a day. They are, however, enjoying the advantages of the new space.

CIVIQ to Transform San Antonio

Bexar County Commissioners recently announced a new pilot program to bring state-of-the-art urban technology to the urban center of Bexar County, Texas, putting the community at the forefront of smart, connected cities. As part of the program, CIVIQ WayPoints will be installed throughout the County complex in downtown San Antonio, providing residents with high-speed public Wi-Fi and access to county information via interactive touchscreen displays.

Illuminated Arboreal Data Codes

The main focus for this installation was to give a visual language for this site that is joyful, accessible and acts as a visual identity that connects the educational iconography of communication technology. This arboreal theme can be utilized as a visual complement by developing an environment where the viewer can experience the installation as a contemplative space, iconic gateway and destination for the college.

Figurative Poetics Downtown Banners

CORE Design studio was engaged with the concept development and design of a public art banner program for Houston's Downtown District, whose ongoing mission is "to collaboratively plan, manage, maintain and develop downtown Houston to make it a productive, inviting, safe, accessible, walkable, livable, interesting and always active urban place." The Figurative Poetics banner project involved collaborating with a variety of local, regional, well-known, school age and multilingual authors—all of whom provide a small glimpse into Houston’s rich cultural diversity.

Bringing new technology to a well-established museum can be a daunting task. As part of a larger initiative to deepen the presence of technology in their galleries, members of the board at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History (FWMSH) decided that their DinoLab exhibition hall would be the right place to start. Ideum was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the team at FWMSH to design two new interactives for DinoLab.
