Moving around campus is now a very different experience. Instead of locating buildings using confusing acronyms like E7A, the firm helped Macquarie introduce addresses like University Avenue and Wally’s Walk to facilitate navigation.
Working in collaboration with Joey Ho and Patrick Leung of PalDesign Architects, Urbanite was commissioned to work on a new concept in children’s play spaces that is understood to be the first of its kind in Australia. Built around best practices for early childhood education through a lens of play, Nubo supports education and growth through exploration and connection for children up to ten years of age.
Transport for New South Wales is undertaking an ambitious overhaul of its transportation wayfinding infrastructure across all modes of travel, including train, bus, light rail and ferry. Dotdash (Brisbane) developed an integrated signage system applied across 60 unique sites. Concepts were targeted at providing an emotional connection to the environment. Probably the most popular part of the program is the human-size mosaics, which greet visitors at the changing room entrances. The relaxed posture and friendly demeanor of the images provide a tangible personality to the entry.
