Studio SC

Studio SC (Seattle) was selected by the Washington State Convention Center and ZGF Architects to create a new exterior identification signage program for the complex located in Seattle’s retail core. Studio SC is also working with LMN Architects and Talon Capital to rebrand three commercial office buildings in downtown Seattle with new environmental graphic identity programs.

Dell Children's Medical Center

On Axis with Nature

A new children's hospital with LEED ambitions takes an organic approach to wayfinding.

It’s not often that hospital wayfinding systems are created from the ground up, but when new construction is involved, designers have a rare opportunity to integrate wayfinding cues into the architectural fabric of the building. And when that hospital is built to LEED standards, a whole new vocabulary of materials and processes is created.

Hunt Design - Childrens Hospital LA

Hunt Design (Pasadena, Calif.) designed colorful signage and wall graphics for the new Marion and John E. Anderson Pavilion at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The program integrates wayfinding, donor recognition, and child-friendly wall graphics that reflect Southern California’s distinct natural surroundings.

The Hunt team worked with ZGF Architects to create the program for the state-of-the-art facility, which was recently honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal as Best Medical Project of 2012.

Studio SC

Studio SC (Seattle) recently installed and tested prototype signage at Seattle Children’s Hospital for its Building Hope expansion and campus master plan. The signs, fabricated by Image Mill, were tested for legibility, color, consistency, size, cap height, and clarity. Placing these prototypes in a low-traffic area of the hospital allowed the design team and owner to see how the signs looked at full size in the environment, and also gave patient-families an opportunity to experience the new wayfinding program and offer feedback.

FMG (Houston) was commissioned by Valley Health to provide comprehensive environmental graphic design services for Page Memorial Hospital, a new replacement hospital and medical office building in Luray, Va.

The firm was also commissioned to develop comprehensive environmental graphics programs for three Virginia healthcare facilities: Riverside Surgical Expansion at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va., Riverside Doctor's Hospital in Williamsburg, and Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox.
