Second to None: 2015 SEGD Conference in Chicago

Okay, it may be called the Second City... but Chicago takes the back seat to no one. From the Magnificent Mile to the shores of the mighty lake, and from Oak Park to Lincoln Park to Millennium Park, Chicago is chock full of EXPERIENCE. The best shopping in the world? Check. The best pizza? You got it. The best cultural, arts, and design attractions? Think the Art Institute, spectacular museums, amazing music venues (blues anyone??), an unparalleled park system, and attractions like Navy Pier and the Architecture River Cruise.

Josh Sikich

Everyone loves to have a choice. The ability to decide how you want to travel in your daily life is potentially mundane...but that choice has wide-ranging impacts. For the individual, it can mean more happiness, improved health, or a feeling of greater connection to the surrounding world. For society, a diverse range of transportation options can improve the economic vitality of a region, allow for effective use of public funds, and provide a sustainable environment respectful of natural resources.

Dawn Hancock

Since opening in 1999, Firebelly has produced solid work they believe in and clients trust. Work that has merited mention in a journal here and a design archive there. While certainly proud of the studio’s history and accomplishments, Dawn Hancock feels no need to rehash the past.

She prefers to live and work in the present, to make of it something rich and sustainable that can make a lasting impact.

Michael Shaub

Michael Shaub is a Graphic Designer at the Chicago offices of Gensler. At Gensler, Michael works within an EGD studio but also collaborates on many interdisciplinary projects requiring advanced visualization and representation that go beyond the traditional digital toolbox most designers are familiar with. By using programming and modeling software that integrate code and parametric design principles, Michael Shaub is able to manipulate traditional process boundaries and create visually compelling experiences that are capable of translation to both physical and digital mediums.
