New Developments in Design Research and Education at the 2021 SEGD Academic Summit

It’s that time of year again, the 2021 SEGD Academic Summit will be here in less than TWO weeks! Want to join an amazing event that covers new developments in design research and education at no cost, make sure you grab your ticket today!

Yes, you heard it right, this event is entirely free and promotes the latest and greatest developments in design research and education. The SEGD Academic Summit is meant to be a forum for trends in design education research, projects and curriculum innovation for design academics, students and researchers. This event is great for industry members as well to reconnect with the new ideas that are coming from researchers today.

This year’s event features 20 amazing presenters from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, including:

  • Reneé Seward, an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Communication Design program at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning and Creator of the reading tool called See Words Reading® and Co-Founder of See Word Design.
  • Colleen Connolly, a graphic designer and current Fulbright Scholar in Taipei, Taiwan. She received a Fulbright Arts Research Grant after graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond in 2020. Her current research, the Gateway Project, advocates for increased access to multilingual exhibitions and resources for museum visitors.
  • Chang Lee, an architect and an experience designer. He studied the Exhibition and Experience Design Master’s Degree program at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. Chang has a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from Yonsei University in Seoul. During his studies, he founded ’Studio Chang’, a group that believed in collaboration among the different design disciplines. As he believes that “Art can go beyond its limits when cooperating with other fields,” he collaborated with painters, sound artists, electronic engineers and designers to experiment and produce innovative projects.
