Cheryl Fogle-Hatch, Ph.D.

Cheryl Fogle-Hatch, Ph.D. founded MuseumSenses (https://museumsenses.org/) and consults with museums on improving accessibility for people who are blind or have low vision.  She earned a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of New Mexico where she taught 100 and 200-level college courses in archaeology. Dr. Fogle-Hatch has designed and led hands-on science activities for high school students in programs run by the National Federation of the Blind.

Yvette Shen

Yvette Shen is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design in the Department of Design at The Ohio State University. Before joining academia, she worked as an interactive designer closely collaborating with people in professional industries such as healthcare, automotive, arts and entertainment, and non-profit organizations. Her current creative and research expertise mainly lies in the field of information design and information visualization.

Liz Sanders

Liz Sanders is the founder of MakeTools, LLC where she explores new spaces in the emerging co-design landscapes. As a practitioner, Liz introduced many of the methods and tools being used today to drive and/or inspire design from a human-centered perspective. She has practiced co-designing across the design disciplines and is now bringing co-design practices to many other disciplines. Her industrial career has been focused on generating, developing and using participatory design research methods in the design and development of products, services, systems and spaces.

Andrea Quam

Andrea Quam is an associate professor of graphic design at Iowa State University’s College of Design. She received her BFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State. After her BFA, she practiced as a multimedia and print designer. She’s worked with a range of clients including: McGraw Hill, Ford, General Electric, Elsevier Science and Meredith Corporation. After a decade of dedicated practice, she returned to graduate school to receive her MFA in Visual Communication from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Michael Ford

Michael Ford is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Interior Design at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He has 29 years of professional experience in Facilities Management, Interior Design, and Exhibition Design. Michael worked for Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri for 8 years as an interior designer and tradeshow booth designer before moving to the Cerner Marketing Team, where, for several years, he managed the team responsible for Cerner’s tradeshow properties and tradeshow event planning, including oversight of multi-million dollar corporate events.

Pete Evans

Pete Evans AIA IDSA is an architect, industrial designer and educator with over 25 years of industry experience. He has written for presented at national AIA events including Technology and Practice (TAP), chaired the state AIA professional development work, published numerous articles for Architosh, is the co-jury member for Architosh’s AIA BEST of SHOW awards program traveling regularly to conferences around the world for Architosh as senior associated editor.

Gabi Schaffzin

Gabi Schaffzin is an artist, educator, and researcher based in Toronto. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Design at York University's School of Arts, Media, Performance, and Design. He holds a PhD in Art History, Theory, and Criticism from the University of California San Diego, an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art & Design's Dynamic Media Institute, and a BS in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley.

Carlea Stremme

Carlea Stremme is a recent graduate from West Chester University with a B.F.A in Graphic + Interactive Design and a minor in mathematics. During her studies, she was able to study abroad in Denmark’s capital, Copenhagen. Taking inspiration from a design-oriented country has led to creating an exhibit to showcase design, sustainability, and experiences called, Copenhagen: Sustainability by Design.

Marty Maxwell Lane

Marty Maxwell Lane is a graphic design educator, maker, researcher and writer. Her research focuses on design that facilitates learning and empowerment through investigations pertaining to design pedagogy, collaboration, and participatory design. She is currently an Associate Professor of Graphic Design in the School of Art at the University of Arkansas, where she also serves as Associate Director of the School. Her forthcoming book, Collaboration in Design Education will be published in 2020 by Bloomsbury.

Bree A. McMahon

Bree A. McMahon is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the University of Arkansas. Her research explores methods for disrupting traditional approaches to design pedagogy. Working with various collaborators, she develops and facilitates workshops for design students that examine complex topics through dialogical project prompts while incorporating opportunities for student conversations that encourage critical perspective and learning.
