SEGD Honors Student Design Excellence at DAAPworks 2025

At this year’s DAAPworks 2025 showcase, the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD) once again recognized outstanding student work from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). The annual SEGD DAAP Design Excellence Awards were presented to five graduating students/student groups whose capstone projects demonstrated excellence in experiential and environmental graphic design.

Held each spring, DAAPworks highlights final projects from across DAAP’s disciplines, including Communication Design and Industrial Design—fields that frequently intersect with SEGD’s focus on placemaking, wayfinding, exhibition design, and branded environments.

This year’s honorees include:

Selected by a jury of faculty & SEGD members, the awardees stood out for their innovation, clarity, and thoughtful use of design to enhance user experience in physical and digital environments.

“These projects push the boundaries of design thinking and storytelling—from political critique to cultural memory, from speculative futures to the reframing of life and death,” said Renee Seward, Associate Professor of Communication Design.

As DAAPworks continues to spotlight emerging talent, the SEGD DAAP Design Excellence Awards serve as a meaningful bridge between education and professional practice—celebrating the next generation of designers shaping how we experience the world.
