Kathy Fry is a member of the 2019 SEGD Board and Chair of the SEGD Achievement Awards
Kathy Fry is a principal at Mayer/Reed, a Portland, Oregon based interdisciplinary design studio providing landscape architecture, urban design, visual communications and product design. She directs visual communications services in the design of signage, wayfinding, interpretive and branded spaces for civic, recreation, transportation, cultural, healthcare, education, mixed-use and corporate settings.
Kathy’s work has been recognized with awards from the Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and SEGD. She was creative director and co-producer of the first SEGD Chapter event to receive an SEGD design award; Revolution in the Landscape: Re-experience the Halprin Fountains. Published work includes projects featured in Wayshowing>Wayfinding and Signage and Wayfinding Design: A Complete Guide to Creating Environmental Graphic Design Systems, 2nd Edition.
Kathy is a graduate of Portland State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and a minor in sociology. In 2012, she co-founded the SEGD Portland Chapter. She joined the SEGD Board in 2016 and serves as the Chair of the SEGD Achievement Awards.
