EMILY CONRAD, Co-Founder, Tessellate Studio, Experience Design
Emily Conrad draws upon her expertise in technology to create rich, meaningful experiences that educate and evoke. She excels at working with game changers and disrupters who seek a bold new way to approach a problem. Her experiential design strategies facilitate engagement, inspire meaningful connections and activate audiences for a wide array of project types.
With sixteen years of expertise as a technologist, interaction designer, and activator of space, Emily Conrad designs fresh experiences and technology platforms integrated into large-scale media environments and physical space to create lasting impact.
Emily’s experiential design projects span retail, corporate, museum and education, including the interaction design for the Statue of Liberty Museum, the brand transforming Studio Xfinity for Comcast, innovative mobile science learning centers for the BioBus, unique exhibitions for the National Museum of Mathematics in New York, as well as leading the STEM curriculum at the Lower East Side Girls Club Maker Space.
Prior to co-founding Tessellate Studio, Emily Conrad was the Director of Immersive and Activity Design at ESI Design. Her projects have integrated hands-on games, participatory group activities, dynamic data visualization, and user-friendly toolsets.
As a designer who applies her approach broadly, she was recently the keynote speaker for the PSFK 2016 Future of Retail conference. Currently Emily is a member at NEW INC, New Museum's Cultural Incubator, which supports projects at the intersections of art, design and technology.
Emily earned an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University and a BA in Studio Art and Earth Sciences from Earlham College.
