Academic Summit Kicks Off SEGD Summer 2020 Events

Coming this June, the SEGD Academic Summit, typically held in conjunction with the annual Conference Experience, returns—virtually—June 11 and 12!

Popular amongst educators, students, and young designers, this event will address the latest trends in design education research, innovative student projects, and curriculum advancements in the academic world.

Earlier this year, SEGD put out a call for papers, encouraging academics, students, and designers to submit their research in the design industry to be evaluated by the SEGD Academic Task Force and published in SEGD’s Academic Journal, Communication + Place. Those whose papers were chosen by the Task Force were then asked to speak on their innovative research at the 2020 Academic Summit. 

Split between two days with four hours of content each day, the Academic Summit will feature live speaker sessions, networking, and discussion.

Part One will take place, Thursday, June 11, from 12:30 p.m. –  5:00 p.m. EDT. // Part Two will take place, Friday, June 12, from 12:30 p.m. –  5:00 p.m. EDT.

The Academic Summit has always been and will continue to be free to members and non-members in the pursuit of promoting greater design education and research.
