Arthur King Featured in “Weathered” Exhibit at Carrie Haddad Gallery

SEGD Member Arthur King is being featured in ‘Weathered’, a group exhibition now open at the Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson, NY. The show brings together artists whose work reflects the visible and invisible effects of time on people, places and memory. His very early work reflects his interest in film and photography even while graduating from Pratt Institute with a degree in Industrial Design.

With more than six decades of work mainly in the US and the UK, King has created or managed global and local solutions, many of which have stood the test of time. For example, the CITGO brand designed by King introduced in 1965 is a respected landmark outside Fenway Park in Boston. Introduced at the same time was NEW YORK LIFE which also remains in use.

In ‘Weathered’, King joins a group on artists who are exploring time’s impact on material and form. His pieces invite viewers to open a window back in time and see the New York as it was. A film called ‘New York is a Summer Festival’ made in 1958 is part of his second interest after 3D design, exhibitions, wayfinding and project management. The show runs August 1 to September 21, with an opening reception on Saturday 2 August from 5-7pm
