Arthur King is one of the world’s more experienced corporate communications experts and sign specialists.
As a Design Director and then Vice President of Lippincott, the renowned pioneers of Corporate Identity in New York, Arthur King designed and directed branding projects for Hertz, Eastern Airlines, Citgo and New York Life. Moving to London, he managed the European roll-out of the Chrysler identity program, then headed Lippincott’s design operations.
Earlier work included IBM and two projects (Seattle & Zagreb) for the US Department of Commerce.
Arthur King opened his own consultancy in London (1971) and led project teams in the successful resolution of communications problems for many major corporations. Clients included Aer Lingus (and 22 other airlines), BAA (British Airports Authority), Thomas Cook, LEP International (freight forwarding), London Zoo, Forward Trust Group (HSBC), London’s largest Opticians and a Building Society. Packaging projects, mainly in the food industry, covered worldwide strategy for Barilla, European designs for Buitoni, Knorr, Guinness and the UK CO-OP.
Since 2000 Arthur King has focused on Implementation and Brand Strategy from a New York base working directly, or ‘lego-like’ with several groups and companies where he can make a contribution.
Project Management Clients include CA (formerly Computer Associates), NewAlliance Bank (a merger of five community banks), Citizens Bank and Fiserv. Four global re-branding projects for JLL, starting with Microsoft, have been completed recently.
Consultancy and Design Clients include the City University of New York and branding, signage and environmental graphics for the new CUNY Graduate School of Journalism plus four other CUNY colleges. Start-up company projects include naming and branding the very successful ‘Tracker’ (a UK version of Lo-Jack in the US) and HELIOS (now Lifeway), a dairy nutriceutical product.
Qualifications include a degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in New York. Arthur King is a semi-professional photographer, a private pilot and has presented to many groups.
