Daktronics at University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium

Daktronics (Brookings, S.D.) has continued a long-standing relationship with the University of Georgia to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display and Show Control System for Sanford Stadium. The new technology was installed prior to the G-Day Spring Game and will be fully debuted in the fall for the 2018 football season.

Truett's Chick-fil-A is a is a casual, family-friendly restaurant serving a southern-inspired menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner; it also acts as a lab to create new menu items, service models and guest experiences. Truett's has a drive-thru, a dining room with full waitress service, and a self-serve dining room with walk-up counter ordering, take-out and mobile pick-up. This mix of ways to get Chick-fil-A are reflective of Truett’s vision: "Three meals a day at Chick-fil-A."

Jekyll Island Museum Concept

It’s not often that Lorenc+Yoo is able to participate in design projects close to their Atlanta-area home, which made the concept design for the Jekyll Island Museum a particularly special experience for the firm.

Originally a site of Native American habitation and later a European colonial settlement and fort, by the 20th century, Jekyll Island had become a beach refuge for the wealthy and the site of one of the most important conferences on U.S. monetary policy. Now a state-operated nature preserve, Jekyll Island’s history is wide-ranging, complex and important.

What is SEGD? Presentation and Discussion at Art Institute of Atlanta

Local members of SEGD Atlanta presented "What is SEGD?" to graphic/web design, illustration and interior design students at The Art Institute of Atlanta on April 26. Chapter co-chair Steve Dubberly of SRSSA reached out to SEGD member and AiA design faculty Sue Youngblood to coordinate the event. Steve provided an overview of SEGD and brought EG magazines to give to students.

Who, Like Me, Is Threatened?

In 2014, the Center for Civil and Human Rights opened in Atlanta as a place for education, connection, collaboration and action. By challenging visitors to understand their role in helping others and empowering them to “take the protection of every human’s rights personally,” the museum sheds much-needed light on a variety of global issues and, most importantly, the people experiencing them.

The design brief asked the Second Story team to explore the theme of “time” by imagining a future world based on “plausible present technologies, ideas or milieus.” The temporary installation would live in public spaces along a downtown Atlanta block during “Creative Loafing’s Best of Atlanta” annual party.
