University City Science Center, the nation’s largest and oldest urban research park, has continued expanding its footprint. The ex;it design team was originally commissioned to create a wayfinding program to help visitors navigate the campus. However, ex;it identified a broader opportunity to connect the Science Center with the larger University City District. The 37th Street walkway—named Innovation Plaza—is now a welcoming hub of learning and leisure.

Buffalo State College Donor Recognition Wall

Cannon Design was tasked with providing a custom interior donor wall for the Phase II addition to the Science and Mathematics Complex at Buffalo State College. The vision was to use the space to pay tribute to the generosity of the donors and benefactors who made the space possible and also to pay homage to the science and mathematics programs within the complex and, lastly, to recognize the important work the Great Lakes Center is providing in improving the Great Lakes ecosystem.

The Franklin Institute is a popular education and science center in Philadelphia. Together with the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial which is housed in the building's pantheon-inspired rotunda, it is one of the city's top tourist attractions. The Memorial is the fee-free entry area to the building and the section that sees the most visitors.

Writers Theatre Rewrites the Theater Experience

Writers Theatre, Glencoe., Ill.

Since it started in the back room of a bookstore in 1992, the hallmark of Chicago’s Writers Theatre has always been intimacy. That feeling is retained in WT's new permanent home in Glencoe, Illinois. The 36,000-sq.-ft. facility, designed by Studio Gang Architects, offers an open, welcoming space that galvanizes the potential of theater to unite people through shared experience. Signage and graphics by Thirst support the architecture and celebrate Writers’ unique history and spirit.
