In this week's installment of Design To Go, Diane Burk travels to Kyoto and Tokyo in Japan. Kyoto is known for its Buddhist gardens and temples and its preservation of traditions from wooden houses to kaiseki dining and geisha entertainers. Tokyo is Japan's capital city and is world-renowned for its lively nightlife, many museums and blending of traditional and ultra-modern architectural styles.

I feel extremely honored to be following in the footsteps of John Lutz who, through his inspirational leadership helped the SEGD Board and staff grow our global community to a record-breaking 2,139 members with an emphasis on student membership.
2017 was another strong year for SEGD and the ongoing development of the association, the fifth in a row, in fact. As we say "thank you and farewell" to John Lutz after his two-year term as SEGD President ends and say "hello" to Bryan Meszaros as he starts his two-year term, it is worth reflecting on the journey we have been on the past five years, and, where we are going from here.
