Chroma Streams: Tide and Traffic

Merit Award
Chroma Streams: Tide and Traffic, Glasgow City Council, Leni Schwendinger Light Projects Ltd.

Chroma Streams: Tide & Traffic is a site-specific, integrated artwork for the highly trafficked Kingston Bridge in Glasglow, Scotland. The installation was one of many commissioned by the Glasgow City Council as part of its municipal lighting strategy. The artist’s challenge lay in addressing the bridge’s highly visible but aesthetically unappealing structural materials.

The Home Depot Design Center is the next-generation store concept by the venerable big-box retailer. In this innovative concept, the second-largest retailer in the world aimed to shed its unrefined warehouse image, suitable for contractors and hard-core do-it-yourselfers, in favor of a more polished look to attract a younger, urban demographic with a “do-it-for-me” mentality and a need for complete design solutions.
