Superb Sessions

Poulin’s anticipated release of the first publication on de Harak, entitled Rational Simplicity: Rudolph de Harak Graphic Designer, will be the foundation of his presentation of how brand “storytelling” gained popularity and de Harak’s influence on this new field of practice. A Q&A will follow. During the morning networking break, Richard will sign copies of his newly released book, available exclusively to BE participants. Championing Creativity to Rebrand a “Playground for the Creative Industry”: The Art Department – a festival on concept art, design and craftsmanship in film, animation and games – was recently rebranded to reflect an ethos, with a system based on the design process in all its messy, playful and unexpected glory. But how do you visualize the path from creative spark to realization? Simon Buijs, Amsterdam based, Senior Art Director (BUCK) offer secrets on hacking the process by nailing down three guiding principles through which to explore the theme: Think & Wonder, Play & Explore, Make & Make Better.

What do curiosity, spirituality, and creativity have to do with marketing brands and workplace environments? Lead Designer, Carly Klaire (Acrylicize) will share how their work balances authentic stories to bring large brands and retail experiences to life without compromising their ethics or artistic vision. Carly will share an array of beautiful and inspiring designs that bring stories to life in space, and concretize the importance of leaning into local narrative’s for global brands.
