At SEGD Your Safety is Our Priority – Updated COVID-19 Protocols
As we begin to return to in-person events, we want to keep you informed on our plans to make this a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Beginning September 15th, SEGD will require everyone joining us at the 2021 SEGD Conference in Philadelphia, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to attending. Additionally, we will continue to follow the recommendations of the CDC and local health authorities with regards to masking, social distancing and cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
It is our belief that this is the best way for us to safely gather and enjoy in-person events. If you have any questions, please let us know at jennette@segd.org.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!

2021 SEGD Conference Safety Plan, Effective September 15th, 2021
Updated COVID-19 Protocols: Proof of Vaccination or Negative Test Required
The health and safety of our SEGD members and conference participants is our priority. Following recent trends in the event industry to minimize risk and maximize participant well-being, SEGD has decided to require proof of full COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test (no more than three days prior to the start of the conference) for all participants.
Vaccination
Proof of vaccination can be presented as a physical vaccination card or a photo of your card with your name and the date(s) of vaccination from a reputable clinic or professional medical office. For Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, both vaccination shots are required to be considered fully vaccinated.
Negative Test
If you choose to show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test, a physical copy or photo is also required with your name and date of test from a reputable clinic or professional medical office. Date of the test must be no more than three days prior to the start of the SEGD Conference, which would be Monday, November 1, 2021.
For those requiring a test, the PHL airport has a rapid COVID-19 testing facility on site. There are also available testing facilities throughout the city.
Masks
At this time, masks are required for conference gatherings with the exception when actively eating and drinking. A mask will be provided in your conference bag, but we encourage you to bring several masks with you.
We expect all of our participants to consider the health and well-being of fellow participants and adhere to this policy, practice good judgement, follow CDC guidelines and comply with all other rules, regulations and guidelines when traveling to the 2021 SEGD Conference.
It is also important to note that our SEGD Conference venue, the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, is committed to best providing a safe, healthy environment for all hotel guests and conference participants. Please view the Loews Philadelphia Hotel Safety Protocols.
Please note that attending an in-person event presents an inherent risk of exposure to communicable disease. By attending this event, you voluntarily accept all risks related to exposure from communicable disease and agree to not hold SEGD or its representatives liable for any illness or injury. You agree to follow all safety protocols issued by SEGD.
