SEGD 2021 Xlab Keynote Marco Tempest Announced!

SEGD is thrilled to announce that Marco Tempest, Directors Fellow, MIT Media Lab, will headline the closing Keynote on Friday, January 29th, at our first virtual Xlab Conference!

Marco invents the impossible. As Creative Technologist of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Extended Reality Lead Consultant at Accenture and Founder of MagicLab.nyc, Marco specializes in developing immersive experiences of future technologies. He takes ideas about advanced technology, and how we might interact with it, and finds innovative ways to bring those concepts alive. In his virtual presentation for SEGD 2021 Marco will combine mixed reality, storytelling, gestural sensing and swarm robotics to give us a glimpse of a delightful augmented future—right now!

Marco is a cyber-illusionist, combining magic and technology to produce astonishing, multi-dimensional planes of magic and thought. He began his performing career as a stage magician, winning awards and garnering recognition and accolades as one of the world¹s most creative performers. But an interest in technology took him in a different direction in which the ingenious thinking of the magician was combined with digital media to produce a unique and original form of magic and illusion.

Marco’s digital illusions and augmented realities were ideal for the emerging digital world. This isa brand of illusion that contemporary audiences engage with. The Internet and social media prove to be the perfect showcase for Marco’s innovative ideas.
