Public Prep Charter Schools – Girls Prep II

Girls Prep II is a new Pre-K through 3rd grade facility opening in the fall of 2024. The 6 story building expands Public Prep’s footprint to serve girls in the South Bronx. The building’s flexible design and program will allow it to evolve in forthcoming years, adding new grades up to 8th grade level.

Project Vision

Via Collective’s signage and environmental graphics expressed the palette of color, typography, and pattern established in the recently-implemented brand guidelines across a series of navigable and memorable interventions. Mosaic patterns of the Public Prep brand fill immersive wall graphics that punctuate key circulation moments. These patterns and identification signage extend the voice and color of the Public Prep brand throughout the space, yet is uniquely expressed through the volumetric and colorful environment designed by Michael Graves Architect. The signage finish palette merges the Girls Prep II brand with the warm maple wood of the interior furnishings to create a seamlessly-integrated system that is both surprising and clear.

The Public Prep “Mission Wall”, constructed of modulated blocks of text and image, greets visitors in the lobby.
