Events Associate
Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid
About the Role:
The Events Associate will play a crucial role in planning and executing both in-person and virtual educational symposiums and annual conferences. This hands-on position involves coordinating contractors and volunteers, managing logistics such as orders, shipping, on-site oversight, and overall event management. The ideal candidate will enjoy staying on top of tasks, engaging in hands-on collaboration, and demonstrating agility and flexibility with a welcoming demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research suitable event locations, hotels, and venues for conferences and workshops.
- Update the SEGD website with comprehensive event details and registration options.
- Provide participant and stakeholder services from initial registration to post-event follow-up.
- Coordinate shipments, signage, badge printing, audio-visual support, room setups, food and beverage orders, and speaker arrangements.
- Finalize logistics for event tours and manage speaker services.
- Partner with the Director of Partnerships to confirm sponsor and exhibitor arrangements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum two years working in event planning; non-profit or association experience preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Familiarity with databases and/or directories
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under stress and handle multiple overlapping activities
- Available to travel (some overnight stays required)
Director of Membership Development
Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid
About the Role:
SEGD is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Membership Development to lead the expansion and enhancement of our membership community. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in membership growth, nonprofit organizations, and development. They will be responsible for adding significant membership value, increasing membership growth, overseeing our existing 40 chapter network, and ensuring the consistent management of volunteer staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive membership growth strategy.
- Evaluate and enhance the value proposition for SEGD members.
- Serve as the primary liaison to SEGD’s 40 chapters.
- Oversee and support the management of volunteer staff.
- Foster a sense of community and belonging among SEGD members.
- Utilize data-driven insights to monitor membership trends and measure success.
- Collaborate with SEGD’s leadership team, staff, and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field; minimum 5 years experience.
- Proven experience in membership growth and development within nonprofit organizations.
- Strong understanding of membership value creation and engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Google Work Space, project management software, and analytics for membership retention.
- Experience with membership management software is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
