The 2025 SEGD Conference Experience San Francisco design theme has been announced and, as an extension of the conference, we are excited to announce a Poster Design Challenge to our EXP community!

EXP invites you to participate in the Challenge if you are either in the early stages of practice or a transitioning professional moving into the field of experiential design.

Designing Possible Futures: Practicing Change in Real Time” is a call to be both  introspective and visionary and, for our emerging professionals it’s a moment to join the dialogue through design!
EXP Committee

But why?

Our invitation to our EXP community is borne from the knowledge that our future lies within the vision and perspectives of our youngest and newest members and so, it is your voices that we aim to raise to the top of the dialogue.

Sometimes to look forward, we need to look backwards. The EXP Poster Design Challenge does just that, building on a rich historical design dialogue that both ties us to our past and engages us in ongoing and universal dialogue. Take as an example the International Design Conference in Aspen, an annual event that spanned over 50 years and brought together designers from across the globe to consider and explore design and modern art in a commercial context.

Now, looking forward, and rooted in SEGD’s core values, we draw on that creative philosophy to stimulate design thinking in the context of our annual conference. Our challenge to you as a member of our EXP community is simple; explore the meaning of design within the conference theme and through your own eyes and personal passion, and present a personal interpretation and creative response that utilizes today’s tools, and which engages, challenges, and shares a message to the design community.

We invite you to bring your voice into the larger conversation in San Francisco:

A successful digital or printed poster submission would celebrate nuance, disrupt neutrality, and extend an invitation to co-create possible futures.

  • Juried selections will be exhibited at the SEGD Annual Conference in San Francisco this November
  • Special opportunities for in-person recognition and SEGD media features
  • Deadline Extension: Monday, August 18, 2025 by 11:59 pm ET
