What I love about experience design

The ship, La Belle, was meant to be a small trade ship that would sail up and down the Mississippi River. It was to be brought from France in pieces and assembled in the Americas, in the 1600’s. Because there was so much cargo before the voyage with 2 other ships, though, it was decided to assemble it in France and sail it over instead. The ship sank in a storm and was eventually covered by 2 feet of mud and 10 feet of water for over 300 years. Everything that was below the mud line was preserved perfectly because the mud was so dense no organisms could live in it. When it was discovered in 1994, Roman numerals were found, carved into the keel to indicate to unskilled workers how to assemble it. The front half has the letter A for avante and the back, a D for derriere. I find the entire thing amazing.
