Tara Bengston is a graphic designer working in the Glastonbury, CT office of The S/L/A/M Collaborative – a national multi-disciplinary firm offering architecture, planning, interior design, landscape architecture, structural engineering and construction services. Currently the only graphic designer working for the large firm, she has her hands on a variety of marketing and billable projects. She has a passion for all forms of design, but finds special pleasure in designing large interior graphics to meld into the work of her fellow coworker interior designers and architects. Tara studied at The University of Hartford, Hartford Art School where she received a BFA in Visual Communication Design.
Since joining SLAM Tara Bengston has worked on a broad range of experiential design projects for clients such as: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Providence College, Pfizer, TATA Consultancy Services, Western Connecticut Health Network, Griffin Hospital, and Stamford Hospital. Her donor recognition work at Danbury Hospital in Derby, CT was awarded two national awards by ASI Signage solutions for the Overall Best of ASI and Best Donor Recognition Solution.
In her free time, Tara Bengston loves to travel, create, spend time with family and friends and give back to the community. She has participated in many activities for the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen, the Special Olympics, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, Canstruction, Emerging Green Builders and Habitat for Humanity. She has also donated time and design work for the local fire department’s charity events.
