Skylar Hayden is a passionate and empathetic designer in Portland, Oregon. He typically works in the spaces of wayfinding, experience design, and urban design. They are always expanding their skillset to meet a wide range of challenges and needs of end users, clients, and projects.

He has worked on projects across many sectors including: transit, cities, healthcare, higher education, corporate offices, mixed-use, residential, sports venues, a hotel, and an airport. These projects have given them the opportunity to design digital signage, maps and diagrams, wayfinding strategy documents, wayfinding standards and systems, and donor plaques. These project experiences have also provided him opportunities to collaborate with many project partners across industries on tasks such as: developing user engagement activities for research to inform the development of signage systems, planning and facilitating stakeholder workshops and engagement activities, and informing the development of digital tools to aid the implementation and ongoing maintenance of wayfinding programs.

One of the largest projects they were a central team member for was the San Francisco Bay Area’s Regional Mapping and Wayfinding system working with Metropolitan Transportation Commission, 27+ transit agencies as well as the major cities of San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland and Santa Rosa to develop and implement a single map suite and sign family for the expansive region.
