Megan Dickerson is Exhibits Director of Birch Aquarium at Scripps, where she leads the design of permanent and changing exhibit galleries and non-living collections. Her team applies human-centered design to reimagine the aquarium as a series of “human habitats,” expanding what science centers can be.
Previously, Dickerson developed community-based exhibits and programs at The New Children’s Museum, the nation’s only contemporary art museum for children, and at the Boston Children’s Museum. She also co-founded the Bumpkin Island Art Encampment, an experimental project blending art, play, and public space.
Dickerson holds a Master’s in Play and Playwork from the University of Gloucestershire, grounding her work in the transformative power of play as a tool for connection, creativity, and care.
