Marie Clapot is an educator, sensory museologist and disability justice advocate dedicated to building an accessible and inclusive world. She worked in schools, museums and non-profits.
Marie is currently Head of Tactile Studio US. In that capacity, she spearheads the company’s operations & development in North America.
She served as the Associate Museum Educator for Accessibility at The Metropolitan Museum of Art for over 10 years where she implemented museum-wide strategies to embed accessible and inclusive practices in all aspects of the museum.
She trains museum professionals in the US and abroad, and consults for organizations on accessibility and inclusive practices.
Marie’s publications include “Insights from an educator into crafting scent-based experiences in museum galleries” in Bridging Communities Through Socially Engaged Art, Routledge, 2019; “Musings on healing, museums, and disability” in Museum-Based Art Therapy: A Collaborative Effort with Access, Education, and Public Programs, Routledge, 2021.
