Marcella Verchio is an Environmental Graphic Designer at CannonDesign. Marcella sees art as a powerful tool to educate, inspire, and impact others. She is always eager to learn new skills, challenge her ideals and comfort lever, and experience as much of the world as she can.
In her role as an Environmental Graphic Designer with CannonDesign, Marcella Verchio works to create large environmental graphics, exhibits, wayfinding, and signage for clients mostly in higher education and health care industries.
Before accepting the role at CannonDesign, Marcella Verchio was an Intern with the Smithsonian Institution. As an intern with Smithsonian Institution Exhibits, Verchio created marketing materials and graphics for exhibits.
Marcella Verchio began her education at the Laguna College of Art and Design with a focus in Animation in 2012. A year later in 2013 she transferred to the Cleveland Institute of Art, where she would obtain a B.F.A. in Biomedical Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design in 2016. That summer she worked as a Graphic Design Intern at Faber-Castell, where she assisted the product development team through graphics, illustrations, and mock ups.
Marcella was also employed by her alma mater during her time studying there. First as a Tutor, and then as a Teacher’s Assistant. This lead to the school hiring her as an Adjunct Faculty member for an Intro to Biomedical Art course. The class was aimed to introduce first year students to the software, practices, terminology, and careers of Biomedical Art. Verchio’s class projects focused on the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and depicting scientific subjects in an accurate and educational way.
Marcella Verchio also has experience as a Graphics and Publications Intern and Event Captain at the Cleveland Museum of Art, a Graphics and Exhibit Design Intern and Contract Graphic Designer with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and as an Event Specialist with Jamie Belkin Events.
