Leslie was CEO of SEGD for 13 years. She expanded the traditional view of environmental graphic design to dissolve professional boundaries by bringing together exhibit designers, architects, interior and industrial designers, and landscape architects.
Before retiring from SEGD she introduced the world of dynamic digital environments to SEGD’s programming.
Prior to SEGD she was the founding director of Phila’s Foundation for Architecture. In that role initiated and led the design of Direction Philadelphia, which included the management, maintenance, regulations. and funding for this innovative sign program now in its 40th year. Under her leadership the foundation created and implemented public forums on civic issues, publications, tours, design competitions as well as the largest costume ball in the country
As an architect, she was introduced to SEGD while creating Direction Philadelphia .
She taught architectural design and landscape architecture at the University of Texas in Austin. She has been the recipient of three design awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, and was selected as the USA fellow from the NEA. She was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects.
