A visual communications designer and educator.
I collaborate with creative professionals to build immersive environments that educate family audiences. Then I funnel all my experience and knowledge into the classroom where I teach students to be thoughtful designers.
Exhibition Interaction
I have worked within several museums and cultural institutions art directing and designing exhibits. I take the story and translate it into interactive experiences that engage, educate, and inspire audiences of all ages. As Art Director I focus on the macro, making sure the experience is cohesive with moments of surprise. As a Graphic Designer I focus on the micro, making sure none of the details are neglected.
In connection with every project I design a variety of support materials to raise awareness, generate financial support, and expand the audience reach.
Outdoor Experiences
For outdoor spaces I design intuitive activities that are also robust enough to resist damage from weather and hard play. Designing interactive activities within public spaces opens up opportunities for diverse communities to come together to learn and play.
Outreach Engagement
I have worked with several city agencies in New York City and nonprofits in Philadelphia to create exhibit experiences for underserved families in supportive housing and head start centers. It’s a huge gift to witness a child’s smile upon seeing their transformed, more joyful home.
Design Educator
I have been teaching Graphic Design as an adjunct professor for more than 15 years. Because of my professional experience in environmental graphics, I have been able to work with faculty cross-departmentally to educate students studying 3D environments with 2D graphic design skills. My work is collaborative and I share that spirit with my students, encouraging them to challenge each other, share resources, and build networks.
