Kim Urbain

Kim Urbain is principal of Urbain Design, a design consultancy based in San Francisco that specializes in environmental graphics, branding programs and marketing and editorial print materials. The work is distinguished by its clarity, simplicity and creativity.
Prior to starting Urbain Design 25 years ago, Kim worked as a senior designer and project manager at Broom & Broom, specializing in annual reports, corporate collateral and packaging.
While in Chicago, Kim worked as a designer for Burson-Marsteller, a world-wide public relations firm. There she collaborated with account teams to develop communication strategies for corporate and institutional clients.
After graduation, Kim was hired as a designer for Chicago-based Greiner Associates, a multi-disciplinary design firm, where she worked on identity, editorial, signage and packaging projects.
Kim received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois, where she graduated summa cum laude. She did further graduate work in graphic design as a Rotary International Fellowship recipient at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, Ireland.
