Juliette Bricker
Cartographer and Experiential Designer
Member Since
February 2025
I was raised in Saskatoon, completed my BDes in Toronto, and am currently completing an international Masters in Cartography in Vienna, Munich, and Dresden. In my bachelors I studied human centred design, UX/UI, and information design, while building props and sets for film students in my spare time.
Currently I am applying design methodologies and scientific findings to the development of experimental map signage for wayfinding and education. I am also doing work with one of my university to collect field data to develop hiking maps.
Ask me about
Critical Cartography and Participatory Mapping.
My super power is
My ambition and execution. I’m quite good at making big plans and realistically executing them. Most technology is learnable, but soft skills and critical thinking can be harder to develop. I find these skills help me to develop plans, work in groups, and respond to problems that arise in project development.
I'm looking for
People to learn from and collaborate with, possibly even a mentor.
What I love about experience design
Ray and Charles Eames’ exhibit: Mathematica. It’s a beautiful exhibit in a multiple mediums that informs people about math in understandable and expressive ways. I really hope to create something in my lifetime that is accessible, functional, and also beautiful.
Best piece of advice I've ever heard
University is a time to experiment and be bad at things. It’s the one time in life you have the freedom to try whatever you would like and learn from it with little repercussion.
Where I find Inspiration
In folk stories and research findings. I like to learn about what different cultures and industries are up to and explore how it can be applied to my work.
