Julie Vogel was SEGD Secretary/Treasurer in 2017-2018, served on the SEGD Board in 2012-2019 and is president at Clearstory in San Francisco.
An active listener who is quick to understand abstract issues, Julie Vogel nimbly integrates ideas and explores decisions for their effects and consequences. Clients, architects and other team members appreciate her agility and straightforward approach, as well as her exceptional design skills.
Julie keeps her focus on the user experience, working closely with teams to distill the essence of a space and elevate its design and navigability through environmental graphics. She intuitively combines the range of potential users with the context of a project, resulting in beautiful systems that connect people to place
Her notable projects include the California Academy of Sciences, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, the GSA Federal Building in San Francisco, Letterman Digital Arts Center, and wayfinding master plans for the Presidio of San Francisco and Golden Gate Park.
Julie graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Design and has focused primarily on environmental graphic design throughout her career. She joined Kate Keating Associates (now Clearstory) in 1998 and was promoted to principal in 2009 and president in 2016.
