As the Managing Director of Media Objectives, Joe Lawton oversees all aspects of the studio. His passion for creating holistic brand experiences became the foundation for M-O. What started as an experiment in 2012, has now grown to a team of 10 collaborating across three office locations – Chicago, San Francisco, and Palo Alto. During this time Joe Lawton has led the team on some if it’s most prominent projects, including environmental branding for eBay’s offices in NYC and Seattle, the wayfinding strategy for SanDisk’s Headquarters, a donor recognition display at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Heritage Installation for NewCity, as well as the Village of Mount Prospect Downtown Wayfinding Strategy. Currently he is working with a multi-disciplinary team to develop a new architectural and graphic brand experience for a high-rise residential building in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
Joe Lawton graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Certificate in Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Summa Cum Laude. He currently serves as the SEGD Chicago Chapter Co-Chair as well as the Marketing Co-Chair for Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus. He has also served as the Co-Chair for the 2015 SEGD Conference, Communications Manager for AIA Milwaukee, the founding editor of Studio 2131, and as a Graphic Editor of AIA Forward Journal. A few years back, Joe was a feature designer on HGTV’s White Room Challenge.
