I have designed and managed both large-scale and small-scale branded graphics and signage projects for a wide variety of sectors, including retail, entertainment, airports, finance and banking, hospitality and restaurants, sports facilities, grocery retailers, museums, and civic programs.

John Scheffel is Vice President and Director of Visual Design at the award winning branding and architectural firm api(+), where he is responsible for driving the firms creative vision for graphic communications, environmental graphics, branded environments and brand strategy. He specializes in planning and designing wayfinding and placemaking projects where the goal is to help a user “feel” a place and translate “brick and mortar” into narratives that help make more meaningful and personal connections. As a long-time resident of Tampa Bay he is thoughtful when it comes to community investments initiatives and the people they most serve. An important part of his life story is volunteer work and advocating for the arts. John is a board member for the Tampa Arts Alliance and the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts where he was president for two terms. He currently co-chairs their Community Engagement committee, which includes awarding collegiate scholarships and coordinating public art installations throughout Tampa Bay.
