Harriet Spear is the Principal of Harriet Spear Studio in New York.

Harriet Spear is a multi-disciplinary design consultant with 40 years experience in graphic design. Harriet Spear Studio focus is in environmental or experiential graphic design, including visitor experience analysis and master planning, concept design, design development through implementation. Projects include branding, signage, wayfinding and site interpretation for architectural facilities and campuses, parks, museums and other public places. Her early work ranges from exhibition graphics for the Smithsonian Institution, to signage and wayfinding for U.S. National Parks, to research, analysis and design for Clearview, a highly legible typeface developed for optimal visibility on America’s highway signage.

Harriet’s work includes signage and wayfinding for the City of Trenton, NJ, Borough of Red Bank, NJ; City of White Plains, NY; Village of Cherry Valley, NY; Jamaica Center Queens; Hudson River Park, NY; Bronx River Greenway NY; Louisville Olmsted Parks KY and Aileron Center for Entrepreneurial Education, Dayton, Ohio. She is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, and a longstanding member of AIGA and SEGD. Harriet Spear previously held positions as Director and Designer with Russell Design Associates, Whitehouse & Company and Meeker & Associates.
