Lighting and media designer

I am a lighting and media designer who works at the intersection of architecture, performance, and technology. My practice spans from large-scale civic landmarks to intimate museum exhibits, always focused on how light and media shape human experience. As a principal at upLIGHT, I collaborate with clients, artists, and engineers to create designs that are technically precise yet emotionally resonant.

My super power is
My superpower is translating complex systems into experiences that feel effortless and human. Whether it’s orchestrating hundreds of fixtures in a civic space or weaving interactive media into an exhibit, I bridge the gap between technical precision and creative storytelling.
I'm looking for
I’m looking for opportunities to exchange ideas with a community of designers who push the boundaries of how design can influence culture and experience. I value dialogue that spans disciplines, and I’m excited to contribute insights from my work with both theatrical and architectural lighting while learning from others’ unique perspectives.
What I love about experience design
What I love about collaboration is the way it transforms individual ideas into something richer and more surprising. In my work, the most rewarding moments come when a concept that starts as a sketch or a technical diagram becomes a lived experience because of the expertise and creativity of the people around me.
Best piece of advice I've ever heard
The best advice I’ve received is to “design for people, not for things.” It’s easy to get caught up in technology, specs, and deadlines, but at the end of the day, our work only matters if it resonates with the people who experience it. That perspective grounds me when projects get complex.
