Switzerland: mountains, chocolate and design
Felix Rinderer studied graphic design at the school of design, St. Gallen, Switzerland from 1994 ‐1999. He went to the USA as an exchange student at the Ohio State University OSU, Columbus and trained (internship) with Peter Megert at Visual Syntax. The first work he did was signage for the hospital in Wattwil. He worked as a designer for Gottschalk+Ash International (2001‐2003) and from 2004‐2006 for Wirz Corporate AG in Zürich. He has worked for different clients such as HypoVereinsbank, Porsche Design, Schindler, Leica Geosystems, Pontresina, Swiss Post and Art Basel Miami Beach.
Through the partnership with Ruedi Ruegg from 2006‐2011 Felix Rinderer founded his own office „Designalltag Rinderer GmbH“ in 2008 based in Winterthur, Switzerland. He and his team are specialized in corporate design and environmental graphic design. One of his favourites is still signage for different projects such as wilderness parks (Wildnispark Zürich), shopping centres (Shoppi Tivoli), clinics and hospitals (Zuger Kantonsspital), schools and universities (University of Zurich), sport stadiums and events (Bossard Arena EV Zug).
Felix Rinderer is member of Swiss Graphic Designer (SGD) Switzerland, Swiss Graphic Design Foundation (SGDF) Switzerland, Club-Efforce and of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) USA.
He was guest speaker at the Zuercher Hochschule der Kuenste, ZHDK, Zuerich and at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB) for Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) and is a lecturer of Certificates of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Signage in Switzerland. As a teacher he says: “Creativity and systemization are essential for a perfect solution!”
Felix Rinderer, has over twenty years of experience in the design and production of corporate identity programs, environmental graphics and signage, print communication, annual reports an screen design.
