Elizabeth Gressel

Elizabeth is a narrative experiential graphic designer for architectural, commercial and museum environments.
She is a cross collaborative visual storyteller who designs, develops and produces environmental graphics for retail, historical, and educational spaces. Projects she has worked on include the hands-on interactive exhibits for the Children’s Museum of Virginia; the outdoor playground and donor recognition walls at the Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis; the national headquarters for Stihl Inc.; The Church at Sag Harbor; the Hisense trade show stand at CES 2020 in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas; and the 9/11 Tribute Museum. Through Elizabeth’s past work in graphic prototyping and material testing for the Empire State Building exhibits and observation deck, she understands the importance of durability to withstand 5+ million visitors per year.
Prior to her exhibition experience, Elizabeth spent 10+ years in retail merchandising and display for national brands such as Lord & Taylor, Anthropologie and Fortunoff. She started out installing window displays and worked her way up into creative management for multiple store locations. As the Director of Visual Merchandising for Lovesac she scaled the customer experience across 48 store locations, documented prototypes for seasonal guidelines and harnessed the power of in-store graphic messaging to communicate product attributes beyond in-person sales demonstrations.
Elizabeth holds a Master of Arts in Exhibition Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, an Associates in Independent Graphic Design Studies from Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY, and a Bachelor’s in Scenic Design from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at SUNY Purchase. Elizabeth served as a 2020 Capstone Judge for her alma mater at FIT, and annually participates as a portfolio mentor for the graduating class of Scenic Design Students at SUNY Purchase.
