Ann Neumann is the Director of Galleries and Exhibitions at the recently re-imagined MIT Museum. As a strategic and creative planner, she leads the visioning, content and design teams, developing unique solutions to communicate science, art, history and technology. Her focus is on the museum as an experimental test bed for ideas, conversations and experiences that reflect the critical issues of culture and society.
Ann’s career reflects a commitment to expanding the human experience and science understanding through interdisciplinary collaborations, visual communication and the built environment. Previously she was lead of Liberty Science Center’s Museum Planning and Design Services, providing exhibition creative services to museums and cultural institutions around the world. In addition to leading teams developing exhibitions at the Science Center, her projects included the Konya Science Center, the first large–scale science center in Turkey; Centro Criollo de Ciencias y Technologia in Caguas, Puerto Rico; and the Bell Labs Technology Showcase in Murray Hill, NJ. Also an accomplished illustrator, her work communicates science concepts to non-specialist audiences. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her exhibition, environmental and media design.
