Solid Light Celebrates Yakyu Baseball Exhibit at National Baseball Hall of Fame

Solid Light, Inc., a nationally recognized design-build  firm, specializing in immersive visitor experiences, today announced its key role in the creation of the new “Yakyu | Baseball: The Transpacific Exchange of the Game” exhibit at the  National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York. The groundbreaking  exhibition, which explores the deep cultural ties baseball has created between the United  States and Japan, officially debuted to great acclaim in July ahead of the annual Hall of Fame  Induction Weekend.

The immersive exhibit, located in the Hall of Fame’s Guggenheim Gallery, spans over 1,800  square feet and is presented in both English and Japanese. Featuring a wide array of artifacts,  interactive elements, and media displays, the exhibit chronicles more than 150 years of  shared passion, exchange of teams, and traditions of the game.

Key highlights of the exhibit include stories and artifacts from legendary players like Ichiro  Suzuki, Shohei Ohtani and Hideo Nomo, as well as an immersive ballpark theater. Multiple  interactive features, such as bronze baseballs that allow visitors to try Hideo Nomo’s famous  pitch grips, were brought to life through meticulous design and media integration.

Solid Light, Inc., the lead designer, fabricator, and installer of the exhibit, was delighted to  bring such a captivating and informative experience to visitors of all ages.

“We are incredibly honored to have partnered with the National Baseball Hall of Fame and  Museum on this extraordinary project,” said Chris Mozier, Chief Operations Officer at Solid  Light, Inc. “This exhibit is a powerful testament to the unifying spirit of baseball, and we are  proud that our expertise in experiential design and fabrication helped create an environment  that tells this fascinating story in such a dynamic way.”

Yakyu | Baseball is the culmination of years of dedication and effort and features a new  dynamic for exhibits at the Museum,” said Josh Rawitch, President of the National Baseball  Hall of Fame and Museum. “The exhibit tells the story of the exchange of ideas and talent that

have made baseball so popular on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. We are proud to welcome  guests to an experience that will highlight stories and elements never before seen in  Cooperstown. This has been a tremendous institution-wide effort between our own  dedicated staff and the exhibit’s design partner, Solid Light.”
